Steel is the material that punishes bad handling. It is heavy, it is long, it does not balance, and the moment you ask people to manoeuvre it by hand you have a manual handling problem and a damage problem at the same time.

Why steel is harder than it looks
Ask anyone who has moved structural steel around a site and you will get the same list back.
The weight is the obvious part. Beams and sections are heavy enough that two people is rarely enough and four people is rarely available.
The shape is the harder part. Long sections do not go round corners, do not sit flat on a standard trolley, and shift while you are moving them. That is where the injuries and the dented flanges come from.
Placement has to be accurate. Steel that ends up two metres from where it needs to be gets moved again, which doubles every risk you just took.
The ground is against you. Site surfaces are rough, wet, sloped or all three, and traditional transport methods struggle on all of them.
What the E Wagon changes
The E Wagon is the powered version of the Liftroller Wagon. It carries up to 1,200 kg, the deck adjusts between 535 mm and 1,235 mm so you can pick a load up and set it down at a sensible working height, it charges off a standard 230V supply, and it runs on remote control.
Remote control is the detail that matters for steel. The operator walks beside the load rather than behind it, with a clear view of both ends of the section and both sides of the doorway. Nobody is bracing a beam with their shoulder while somebody else steers.
The adjustable deck matters too. Loading at height means you are not lifting steel off the floor to get it moving, and unloading at height means you are not dropping it either.
A crane gets steel to the building. Something still has to move it once it is inside.

What Everquip have seen
Everquip report a 40 per cent reduction in steel handling time since bringing the E Wagon in. The gain is not one big saving, it is the same small saving repeated all day: fewer people tied up on each move, less time spent setting up for a lift, less standing around waiting for a second pair of hands.

There is a knock-on effect on damage as well. Steel that is carried by hand gets scraped, dropped and bent. Steel that sits on a deck and gets driven to where it needs to be does not.

Where it fits with the rest of the kit
The E Wagon solves horizontal movement. It does not solve getting material into the building in the first place.
On a multi-storey job that is a Liftroller Floor deck, so a crane can land a full load at the level it is needed rather than at ground level. Once the load is inside, the E Wagon takes over. If you need to lift and stack rather than carry, the Liftroller Stacker does that end of it with a 1,000 kg capacity.

Up to 1,200 kg. Treat that as a limit, not a target. Steel sections vary a lot and the way a load is distributed across the deck matters as much as the total weight, so send us the heaviest section you handle and we will confirm the right unit before you order.
No. It is remote controlled and one operator can run it, which is the change most crews notice first. On long or awkward sections you may still want a second person as a spotter, particularly around corners or near an open edge, but that is a supervision decision rather than a lifting one.
It is built for construction sites rather than warehouse floors, so normal site conditions are within scope. Very soft ground, deep ruts or steep slopes are worth talking through first. Send us a photo of the route it has to take and we will give you a straight answer.
It charges from a standard 230V outlet, so no special supply is needed on site. Most crews charge overnight and run a full shift. If you are working long shifts or double shifts, tell us and we will size the plan around that.
Yes. Plasterboard, kitchen units, glazing, mechanical plant, anything that fits on the deck and sits within the rated capacity. Steel is simply the hardest test of it, which is why Everquip is a useful example.
Often, yes. If your loads are lighter and the distances are short, the manual Liftroller Wagon does the job without a battery to manage. The powered version earns its keep when the loads are heavy, the distances are long, or you are doing the same move dozens of times a day.
